Wahab Okoya has shared a bold take on Nigeria’s current reality, saying the country has made noticeable progress compared to three years ago.
Speaking during a recent interview on Cruise Show, the 19-year-old explained that the improvement may not be obvious to those who live in Nigeria full-time, but it becomes clearer to Nigerians who travel abroad and return.
“If you compare Nigeria of three years ago to Nigeria of today, we’re getting better. I know it’s because you guys live in Nigeria, but for us that go to school and come back, when I return, the change is so visible,” he said.
Wahab also argued that Nigerians may be overlooking the efforts of those in power, despite the obvious economic and social struggles.
“We are not giving our government credit because it’s hard, and they are really trying,” he added.
His comments have since sparked mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians debating whether the country is truly improving or simply changing in ways not everyone can feel.
