Beneficiaries of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) at the University of Calabar (UniCal) have voiced significant concerns regarding extensive delays in the refund of their paid tuition fees.
In interviews conducted on Tuesday, students reported that the slow reimbursement process has left many in a state of confusion and financial distress. This situation persists despite claims from the university management that numerous students have already been reimbursed.
The delay has particularly affected those who borrowed funds from relatives or financial institutions to meet strict tuition deadlines, expecting to be reimbursed once the loan was disbursed.
