Tension continues to rise in Mafikeng following the arrest of community figure Tumo Mmolawa after a protest action targeting foreign-owned shops led to a shutdown in parts of the town.
According to reports, Mmolawa was taken into custody on Friday after participating in the controversial protest, which has sparked heated debate across South Africa. However, authorities reportedly claim his arrest was not directly linked to the shutdown itself.
