If You Were Born Three Years Ago, Just Start Counting When You Were Born After Tinubu Leaves – Sowore

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has strongly criticised the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the government as a major failure.

In a video shared by SYMFONI TV, speaking during an interview with journalists, Sowore said Nigerians have suffered greatly since Tinubu assumed office nearly three years ago. According to him, the country has experienced hardship, economic struggles, and a weakening of democratic institutions under the current administration.

He argued that even during military rule, security operatives did not openly intimidate lawyers around court premises as he claims is happening today. Sowore also accused the government of influencing the judiciary, alleging that the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, and Federal High Court are no longer fully independent.

The activist further claimed that some judges are being favoured through personal benefits in order to influence court decisions. He described the situation as dangerous for justice and democracy in Nigeria.

Sowore also revealed that he is currently facing five criminal cases linked to alleged cybercrime offences. He claimed the cases were filed against him because of his repeated criticism of the government and his public comments on national issues.

In his words, "This is three years that the locust has eaten from your life. If you were born 3 years ago, just start counting when you were born after Tinubu leaves."
