“Fubara Had No Chance Against Wike” ~ Sam Amadi

Former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Sam Amadi, has reacted to the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, saying Governor Siminalayi Fubara did not have enough political strength to defeat his opponents.

Amadi made the statement after politicians believed to be loyal to Fubara were reportedly disqualified from participating in the APC primaries for the 2027 Rivers State House of Assembly election.

Reports say 32 aspirants linked to Governor Fubara were screened out, while lawmakers loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, were cleared to contest.

Reacting to the development, Amadi said Fubara should have known he lacked the political influence needed to win the power struggle.

According to him, sometimes fighting for dignity is important even when victory seems impossible.

Meanwhile, Governor Fubara refused to speak to journalists after appearing before the APC governorship screening committee in Abuja. He simply replied, “No comment,” before leaving the venue.
