Results collated at Oke Mapo and Ose collation centers indicate that Candidate Ajipe is leading the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency with 22,000 votes, according to certified copies of results submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Certified returns from Akoko North show Senator Jide Ipinsagba leading with more than 18,000 votes.
Collation at the Akoko South Federal Constituency has not been concluded. The collation officer reportedly absconded with result documents, including materials in the custody of Hon. Olabimtan, delaying the formal announcement. The National Primary Election Committee has emphasized that results must be announced at the constituency collation center in the presence of party agents before transfer to the senatorial collation center.
The total number of accredited voters in Akoko South is 17,108. Even if those accredited votes were allocated entirely to a single candidate, the current verified figures from Owo/Ose and Akoko North leave Candidate Ajipe in a leading position within the senatorial district.
Stakeholders request that INEC and relevant security agencies recover the missing collation materials and ensure their secure handling. They further urge that established collation procedures be enforced, including announcements in the presence of party agents, and that adequate security be provided for collation centers, electoral officials, and members of the public.
Security reports indicate elders, youth groups, and residents of Owo and Ose are gathered near collation centers awaiting an official declaration. Authorities and political actors are urged to maintain calm and allow electoral processes to proceed without obstruction.
