Nigerian entertainer Yhemolee has shared a throwback account of his early friendship with Afrobeats singer Asake, detailing how they both moved from Ile-Ife to Lagos in search of better opportunities.
Speaking in a recent interview clip that has gained traction online, Yhemolee explained that he met Asake around the Obafemi Awolowo University, where the singer frequently spent time despite not being a student.
According to him, the decision to relocate came shortly after his graduation, although he had no concrete plan for what awaited him in Lagos. He said Asake was initially reluctant to join the trip but later agreed, and they traveled together.
Yhemolee recalled that upon arriving at Berger bus stop in Lagos, he contacted a friend he intended to stay with. However, he asked Asake to find his own way from there, assuring him they would reconnect later.
