Lucky Dube, the legendary South African and world's renowned reggae musician, was sh0t and k!||3d on 18 October 2007 in Rosettenville, Johannesburg.
He was driving his Chrysler 300C after dropping off two of his children when armed r0bbers attempted to carjack the vehicle.
During the botched r0bbery, Dube was sh0t.
In the subsequent trial of the three accvsed, the three South Africans, Sifiso Mhlanga (who fired the fatal sh0a!ts, then aged 34), Julius Gxowa (also referred to as Ludwe Julius Ngxowa/Gxowa, aged 32), and Mbuti Mabe (aged 31), testified that one of the assailants later said he had not realised the driver was Lucky Dube.
He claimed they thought Dube was a NIGERIAN NATIONAL.
The r0bbers had apparently targeted the expensive car, assuming the owner was a wealthy foreigner (likely Nigerian), and opened fire when Dube resisted or during the chaos of the failed carjacking.
