Karoline Leavitt teases Trump’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner speech as “Classic Donald J. Trump” — Funny, entertaining, and full of shots fired

Karoline Leavitt previewed President Donald Trump’s upcoming speech at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and made clear what to expect.

“This speech tonight will be classic Donald J. Trump,” Leavitt said. “It would be funny, entertaining. There’d some shots fired tonight in the room. So everyone should tune in. It’s gonna be really great.”

She emphasized Trump writes much of it himself: “In true Donald Trump fashion the man puts his pen to the paper himself. So it’s a lot of his own work.”

Leavitt highlighted Trump’s natural crowd work: “He is a crowd work comedian… He likes to go to the crowd… He is one of the funniest human beings I’ve ever met.”

She recalled texting after a recent Oval Office meeting: “First thing I texted you is I was like that man told me 75 jokes in 8 minutes and I was tossed out the door and I was laughing the whole time.”

The reporter referenced the 2011 dinner where Barack Obama and Seth Meyers joked about Trump: “When Barack Obama and Seth Meyers said you’ll never be president… here we are with President Trump going on stage as a two term for the first time.”

Leavitt agreed Trump is “ready to rumble” and keeps it real: “He keeps it real and says what everyone else is thinking… they just don’t have the courage to say it.”
