FG Introduces National Textbook Ranking System for Schools

The Federal Government has announced the rollout of a National Textbook Ranking System for Primary, Junior, and Senior Secondary Schools across Nigeria, in a major move to improve education standards nationwide.

According to a statement issued by the Federal Ministry of Education, and signed by Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, the initiative aims to tackle the increasing number of unregulated textbooks in schools.

📖 What this means:

* Only high-quality, curriculum-compliant textbooks will be approved for classroom use
* A standardized system will guide schools on the best learning materials
* It will enhance quality assurance across Nigeria’s education sector

The government confirmed that implementation will begin with the September 2026 academic session, after setting up Standing Subject Committees and completing the evaluation process.

🎯 The move is expected to bring uniformity, credibility, and improved learning outcomes for students nationwide.
