The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), in collaboration with the Cross River State Government, has confirmed one case of COVID-19 in the state, triggering immediate public health response measures.
According to the NCDC, the patient has been isolated and is currently receiving treatment, with officials assuring residents that there is no cause for panic.

Providing further details in Calabar, the Commissioner for Health, Henry Ayuk, revealed that the case involves a 53-year-old Chinese expatriate working in a company located in Akamkpa LGA.
