The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI), has announced an immediate suspension of all after-parties and late-night gatherings on or around campus, citing safety and security concerns.
The directive was contained in a safety advisory issued by the union to students on Sunday.
According to the SUG, the decision follows “prevailing and uncontrollable circumstances” that require urgent measures to safeguard lives and maintain order on campus. The union stated that necessary steps have been put in place to protect students.
Effective immediately, the SUG strongly advised students against attending or organizing any form of after-party or late-night gathering. The advisory added that all after-parties linked to campus events are suspended until further notice.
“This decision has been taken in the best interest of all students,” the statement read. “Any student who disregards this advisory does so at their own risk, as the Union will not be held responsible for any consequences that may arise.”
The SUG urged students to remain calm, stay vigilant, and cooperate fully with the directive to ensure a safe campus environment. It also stressed that students should prioritize their personal safety at all times.
The advisory comes amid heightened concern for student safety following recent incident linked to late-night events.
