The Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has secured the conviction and sentencing of Goodluck Ejimiyare for his involvement in internet fra¥d activities.
Ejimiyare was arraigned before Justice (Professor) C. A. Obiozor of the Federal High Court sitting in Benin City on an amended one-count charge of conspiracy to commit computer-related fra¥d alongside one Ebuka Henry Eze, who is currently at large.
He was accused of recruiting young boys into a cybercrime training group known as “Hustling Kingdom,” also referred to as a Yahoo school.
The charge stated that the defendant conspired in 2025 within the court’s jurisdiction to commit computer-related fraud, an offence contrary to Section 27(b) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention etc.) Act, 2015 (as amended in 2024) and punishable under Section 22(2)(iv) of the same Act.
Ejimiyare pleaded guilty to the charge, prompting the prosecution counsel to urge the court to convict and sentence him accordingly. The court later adjourned for sentencing.
On April 20, 2026, the judge sentenced him to five years imprisonment or an option of a ₦1 million fine. He was also ordered to forfeit his phone and submit a written undertaking to be of good behavior.
The case began after 17 boys arrested by the Nigerian Army 4 Brigade Headquarters at a suspected Yahoo school were handed over to the EFCC. During interrogation, several of them reportedly confessed that Ejimiyare recruited them into the operation.
