Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has raised concerns about rising tensions within the All Progressives Congress as the state prepares for upcoming elections. Watch full report
Governor Sule revealed that the sheer number of aspirants eager to contest for the governorship is “astonishing” and too high to comfortably mention on television. He warned that this surge could spark intense rivalries among party members, comparing the scene to “Noah’s Ark.”
He explained that many individuals recently joining the party might cause disagreements, and some could even leave due to competition for state-level positions.
Despite these challenges, Sule expressed confidence in APC’s unity at the national level, noting he has not heard any opposition to voting for the party in the presidential election.
“The struggles are mainly over state positions, but that is the recurring theme I’ve observed,” Sule added, emphasizing that the party remains cohesive despite the internal jostling.
