The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the 2025 SSCE External results.
NECO said 68,166 candidates passed with five credits including English and Mathematics, which is 71.63% of all candidates who sat for the exam.
The exam was written between November 26 and December 13, 2025, and the results were released 52 days later at NECO’s headquarters in Minna.
Out of 96,979 candidates who registered, 95,160 actually took part in the exam.
50,785 were males
44,375 were females
NECO also revealed that 82,082 candidates (86.26%) scored five credits and above, even if English and Maths were not included.
However, the council raised concern over exam cheating.
A total of 9,016 candidates were caught for examination malpractice an increase from 6,160 cases in 2024.
NECO added that:
Five exam supervisors have been recommended for blacklisting,
four exam centres in Niger, Yobe, and Kano states have been marked for de-registration due to malpractice
NECO says it remains committed to maintaining the integrity of its examinations.
