Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for conceiving the 50-kilometre Port Harcourt dual carriage ring road project, describing it as a bold and visionary initiative for the state.
Fubara made the commendation on Tuesday during an inspection of the ongoing project in Port Harcourt, the state capital, where he noted that the scale and ambition of the road underscored Wike’s forward-thinking leadership while he served as governor of Rivers State.
According to the governor, the ring road, when completed, will significantly decongest traffic within the city, open up new economic corridors, and enhance connectivity between urban and peri-urban communities across the state.
He assured residents that his administration remains committed to sustaining and completing legacy projects that have long-term developmental benefits, adding that continuity in governance is key to achieving sustainable growth.
The Port Harcourt ring road project is designed as a 50-kilometre dual carriageway encircling the state capital, aimed at easing movement, boosting commerce, and improving overall urban planning in Rivers State.
