The countdown is on! ⏳ Prof. Joash Amupitan, SAN, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has been on the ground in the FCT, checking readiness ahead of the Area Council elections this Saturday, Feb 21, 2026.
💼 Joining him were National Commissioners, aides, directors, and FCT’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mallam Aminu K. Idris, plus Administrative Secretary Mrs Bimbo Oladunjoye.
✅ The team visited Kuje, Gwagwalada, and Bwari, meeting Electoral Officers who shared their detailed prep plans—everything from material distribution, RAC activation, to security coordination.
📢 Amupitan reminded staff:
“Elections must follow the Constitution, the Electoral Act, and Commission guidelines—no shortcuts!”
In Bwari, staff went the extra mile with a custom card of solidarity, showing their commitment to a smooth, fair poll. 💌
