Despite FG’s Claim of Soldiers on the Ground, Bandits Launch Fresh Attack on Koro Community in Kwara, Leave One Dead


Reports from Koro community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State indicate that the area is currently under attack by bandits.

At least one person has been confirmed dead, although the full scale of casualties remains unclear as of the time of filing this report.

Details surrounding the attack are still emerging, and security authorities have yet to release an official statement.

Koro shares a boundary with Egbe in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, heightening concerns among residents of neighbouring communities.

Background on Kwara Terrorist Attacks

On February 3–4, 2026, terrorists attacked the villages of Woro and Nuku in Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State. 

The attackers, believed to be linked to Boko Haram factions, carried out mass shootings, arson, and kidnappings. Reports indicate that at least 162 people were killed, with over 50 injured and 38 kidnapped. Entire homes and community structures were burned. 

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu condemned the “beastly attack” and ordered the deployment of an army battalion to Kwara. 

Survivors described terrifying scenes of gunfire and burning homes, with families displaced and communities devastated.
