A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Idris Kalgo, has said former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, would no longer face his current troubles if he joins the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kalgo made this statement during an interview on Trust TV on Saturday.
He was reacting to reports that operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) attempted to arrest El-Rufai at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
According to Kalgo, the situation would change immediately if El-Rufai moves to the APC.
“If El-Rufai joins APC today, the case will disappear,” Kalgo said.
He also mentioned former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, saying he is currently facing detention.
Kalgo further referred to former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa. He claimed that after Okowa joined the APC, his issues reduced and he is now a free man.
Kalgo alleged that El-Rufai and Malami are being targeted because they are members of the ADC.
There has been no official response yet from the APC or security agencies regarding the claims.
