The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has instructed an immediate investigation into a viral video featuring troops who are reportedly expressing discontent with their food supplies.
Lt.-Col. Appolonia Anele, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, revealed this information in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
The video, which emerged on social media and was later covered by mainstream outlets, showed soldiers presenting food items allegedly sent by military authorities.
Although the complete context and authenticity of the video were still uncertain, the COAS stated that the issue would be addressed with utmost seriousness.
He stated that the investigation's findings will be released to the public in order to uphold transparency and accountability.
