The Managing Director of the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority (BORBDA), Dr Femi Adekanmbi, has congratulated Nigerians on the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary, commending their resilience, patriotism and enduring faith in the Nigerian project.
Adekanmbi, in a goodwill message, said the anniversary offered an opportunity to reflect on the nation’s journey, celebrate its strengths and renew collective commitment to building a peaceful, united and prosperous Nigeria.
He commended Nigerians for their resilience amid prevailing socio-economic challenges, noting that the country’s abundant human and natural resources remained critical to its development aspirations.
The BORBDA managing director called for sustained public engagement with and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, urging Nigerians to give due consideration to the administration’s policies and programmes aimed at economic recovery, infrastructure development and improved livelihoods. The Federal Government has identified consolidating reforms and translating their gains into greater opportunities for citizens as priorities under the agenda.
Adekanmbi also emphasised the importance of continuity in public policy, effective implementation and collective responsibility in achieving sustainable national development, while urging government at all levels to remain responsive to the needs and aspirations of Nigerians.
He called on citizens to sustain their commitment to peace, unity and nation-building, expressing hope for a future in which the benefits of development would be more widely shared.
He wished Nigerians a peaceful and memorable Independence Anniversary, urging them to remain steadfast in their collective pursuit of a stronger and more prosperous nation.
