According to a woman, her buddy utilised some of the money his father had been saving for his son's master's degree in the UK to purchase an old Toyota Corolla for ₦7 million soon after his father passed away.
The woman claims that her friend's father passed away last month after a brief illness, leaving ₦15.2 million in his bank account.
The father reportedly revealed that he was already saving money for his doctoral studies overseas before his kid finished his national service the year before.
In order to supplement the funds previously set aside for the master's degree, he also urged his son to work and save during the year.
After the guy passed away, the family reportedly spent ₦6.2 million of the ₦15.2 million for his funeral, leaving roughly ₦9 million.
But the son bought an old Toyota Corolla for ₦7 million just days after the funeral.
In addition, he allegedly spent a further ₦500,000 to open a store for his girlfriend, totalling ₦7.5 million.
The narrator disclosed that the dead was a secondary school teacher during his lifetime, which gave the narrative an emotional undertone.
She asserted that he never bought a car himself, even though he supposedly saved millions for his son's schooling.
The account has prompted concerns about inheritance, financial priorities, and how kids decide to spend money left by their parents, especially when that money was supposedly meant for a certain purpose.
