“Doctor gave me two months to live” – Man recounts stage 5 kidney failure ordeal, shares how God restored his health

A Nigerian man has shared his testimony after battling stage 5 kidney failure, revealing that doctors reportedly gave him only two to three months to live.

Speaking during a testimony at Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), the man recounted how his health deteriorated after he was treated for malaria and typhoid in August 2025 but failed to recover.

According to him, further medical investigations later revealed that he had end-stage kidney failure, leaving him facing an uncertain future.

He disclosed that his body became swollen, while he struggled to eat and use the toilet. His condition reportedly became so severe that he underwent six blood transfusions after his blood level dropped to 18 per cent.

The man said doctors advised him to prepare for a kidney transplant and commence dialysis three times a week, describing the treatment as physically, financially and emotionally challenging.

Recounting his experience, he said he travelled to Lagos in October 2025, on his birthday, and was introduced to MFM by his then-fiancée.

He subsequently began attending church services, praying and seeking spiritual assistance from the church's General Overseer.

He also recalled attending the church's Power Must Change Hands programme in Abuja on July 4, 2025, where he said he followed an instruction to strike the part of his body where he felt pain 21 times while fasting.

According to his testimony, a subsequent MRI scan showed that his previously affected liver and kidney were clear.

The man further disclosed that he had spent six months without dialysis and described himself as restored and healthy.

He also revealed that he lost his job during his illness but had since received what he described as better employment opportunities.

Expressing gratitude for his survival, he credited God for his recovery, saying he was still alive despite the grim prognosis doctors had reportedly given him.

However, the medical details of his case, including the reported scan results and the circumstances surrounding his recovery, have not been independently verified. His testimony should not be interpreted as evidence that prayer can replace medical treatment for kidney failure.
