The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has commended the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student Engagement, Comrade Sunday Asefon, for organizing a digital skills empowerment programme for Nigerian students.
The commendation was made by the Chief of Staff to the NANS National President, Comrade Adegoke Naheem Ademola, who represented the President at the programme themed “Empowering Students with Digital Skills and Innovation” held earlier today.
Speaking on behalf of the NANS National President and the entire Nigerian student community, Ademola described the initiative as laudable, impactful and a timely investment in the future of Nigerian students.
According to him, equipping students with relevant digital skills, innovative thinking and practical knowledge is critical to preparing them for emerging opportunities in the global economy.
He also lauded Comrade Asefon for creating a platform that fosters meaningful engagement between government and students, while providing young Nigerians with opportunities to acquire skills that can translate into entrepreneurship, employment and innovative solutions to societal challenges.
Ademola noted that NANS believes student empowerment must go beyond academic qualifications, stressing the need to equip students with relevant skills to compete and succeed in an increasingly digital world.
He reaffirmed the association's commitment to supporting and collaborating with relevant stakeholders on initiatives that promote digital literacy, innovation, entrepreneurship, employability and sustainable opportunities for Nigerian students.
