A married Nigerian woman has expressed disappointment over the condition of an apartment her husband reportedly rented for her mother, saying the property is in such poor condition that it has become a source of tension within the family.
The woman’s account was shared by Facebook user Obongawan Janet Afia, who reportedly received the story through her inbox.
‘The House He Rented for My Mom Is So Shameful’
According to the woman, her husband is financially struggling but still made an effort to provide accommodation for her mother.
However, she claimed that the apartment was in poor condition and began leaking, leaving her embarrassed about the accommodation provided for her mother.
> “I know he’s a struggling man but the house he rented for my mom is so sh@m€ful. I can’t even boast that my husband rented a house for my mom. To make matters worse the house is leaking,” she wrote.
The woman’s complaint reportedly led to a disagreement between her husband and her brothers, who were unhappy with the condition of the apartment.
The situation has sparked discussions online about financial expectations within marriage, the responsibility of husbands toward their in-laws and whether financial limitations should be considered when providing accommodation for extended family members.
