Gunmen have kidnapped a newlywed couple, Rev. Abiodun David and Funmilayo Bamidele, along with four other people on the Eruku-Iyemero Road in Kwara State.
The couple was said to be heading back from their engagement ceremony in Eruku on Saturday evening, September 26, 2026, when the attackers blocked their vehicle.
Sources close to the incident said the group had originally planned to pass through Isanlu Road, but the driver chose a back road so he could drop off the best man and other members of the party in Iyamoye.
The diversion reportedly happened shortly before the gunmen intercepted the vehicle and seized the occupants.
The incident has sparked worry among residents and travellers plying the route, as efforts are said to be ongoing to find the abducted victims and secure their release.
