Atiku Abubakar Calls for Release of Five Men Allegedly Arrested Over ‘Tinubu Must Go’ T-Shirts

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has demanded the immediate release of five men reportedly arrested and arraigned in Maiduguri, Borno State, for wearing T-shirts bearing the inscription "Tinubu Must Go".

According to a statement released by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council, the five individuals were detained after wearing the political slogan apparel near the West End Roundabout in Maiduguri.

Atiku insisted that the phrase "Tinubu Must Go" represents a demand for political change rather than a weapon, threat, or criminal act. He drew a parallel comparison to President Bola Tinubu's own history of participating in public protests against former President Goodluck Jonathan's fuel pricing policies.

The statement criticized the current administration over the rising cost of living, stating that citizens must be free to express dissatisfaction with government policies just as opposition figures did in the past.
