US President Donald Trump announced that the United States and Israel have agreed to pause planned military strikes against Iran, on the condition that a comprehensive peace deal is reached "rapidly".
Writing on Truth Social, President Trump noted that the cancellation of the "locked and loaded" strikes is contingent on a quick diplomatic breakthrough, stating that any finalized deal must include the immediate, complete reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and an end to Iran's nuclear program.
Trump claimed he delayed the attack after receiving direct requests from Iran and other Middle Eastern nations, stating that the "perimeters of a deal" have already been agreed upon.
