In a significant demonstration of grassroots-oriented leadership and political responsiveness, Engr. Olawande Toyosi Okoro, the APC candidate for the Ondo State House of Assembly, Owo Constituency I, today distributed hundreds of bags of fertiliser to farmers across wards and communities in Owo Local Government Area.
The agricultural inputs were made available to Engr. Okoro through the intervention of the Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima, under the agricultural empowerment initiatives associated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The distribution elicited considerable enthusiasm among beneficiaries, who expressed appreciation to Vice-President Shettima and Engr. Okoro for what they described as a timely intervention capable of strengthening agricultural productivity and alleviating some of the input constraints confronting farmers.
Particularly noteworthy was Engr. Okoro’s decision to extend the gesture beyond his immediate constituency. Addressing the gathering through Hon Tunde Owadimbola, the party Chairman in Owo Local Government, Engr. Okoro called on the people of Owo and neighbouring communities to consolidate their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima and the APC, while urging party supporters to intensify legitimate grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He further solicited the electorate’s support for APC candidates across the local government, including his own candidacy, while emphasising the importance of translating governmental interventions into sustainable political confidence through constructive engagement, accountability and continued service to the people.
The event has consequently assumed significance beyond the immediate distribution of agricultural inputs.
