Miyetti Allah Urges Farmers to Stop using poisonous Chemicals on Crops, says they are Harming their Cattle

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) urged crop farmers to stop applying toxic agrochemicals and pesticides to their crops. The association reported that poisoned crops are causing the deaths of cattle that graze on farmlands, escalating tensions and conflict risks between herders and farmers.

MACBAN highlighted recent incidents, such as cattle dying after feeding on farms treated with heavy pesticides and chemicals. The association appealed for restraint and dialogue, emphasizing that chemical use threatens livestock livelihoods and deepens rural community divisions.

Reacting to the call, crop farmers argue the heavy chemical applications are meant to protect their harvests and deter open grazing destruction on cultivated lands.
