The German Federal Police has donated a fleet of operational vehicles to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to boost border security, improve operational mobility, and strengthen migration management between both countries. The vehicles were presented during a visit by a German delegation led by Mr. Neils Zimmermann, Head of Department 42, to the NIS Headquarters in Abuja.
Receiving the vehicles, Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap, described the donation as a reflection of the strong bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Germany. She said the vehicles would enhance the Service's ability to effectively carry out its statutory responsibilities, particularly in border surveillance and migration management.
Zimmermann reaffirmed Germany's commitment to supporting the Nigeria Immigration Service through institutional capacity building and closer collaboration to address transnational migration challenges. He expressed confidence that the partnership would continue to deliver mutual benefits for both countries.
The donation forms part of the longstanding partnership between the Nigeria Immigration Service and the German Federal Police, aimed at strengthening border security, enhancing operational effectiveness, and promoting safe, orderly, and regular migration.
