Why I can never collaborate with some of my colleagues – Kiekie

Nigerian media personality and content producer Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, also known as Kiekie, has given an explanation for her decision to avoid collaborating with specific entertainment industry peers.

In a recent podcast interview, Kiekie stated that she would not work with skit creators whose material she deems to be unduly obscene or offensive.

Such partnerships, in her opinion, would not align with the image and principles she has established for her brand.

She emphasised that upholding her brand identity is crucial, noting that although she respects the styles of other creators, she would rather collaborate with individuals whose work reflects her own standards and creative direction.

“I would never collaborate with any skit maker that is too vulgar. I will not be able to collaborate with them.”

The interviewer said: “Give me one name.”

She responded: “Let me think about it. Hmmm. I don’t have a name of one but I have seen quite a number of them. So if you’re too much breasts, bumbum, not that I have a problem with it but it’s just brand alignment.

My inability to collaborate with you doesn’t mean that I look down on what you do or I don’t respect what you do or I don’t see your hard work. I recognize your hard work but we just don’t align. It will affect the way my own brands are approaching my own work.”
