ABUJA, Nigeria – Von Batten-Montague-York, L.C., has questioned the authenticity of a letter purportedly written by United States President Donald Trump to Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, comparing it with an actual copy of a letter Trump sent to Argentine President Javier Milei.
In a post on social media, Batten-Montague-York alleged that there were notable differences between the two documents, one of which was published as an image while the other was presented as a full transcription.
The commentator said it was unusual for a presidential letter to be reproduced in full, including the date and signature block, rather than having an image of the original document published.
However, Batten-Montague-York clarified that the claim was not necessarily that a diplomatic response letter was never sent to President Tinubu or that Tinubu personally fabricated the document.
The commentator argued that, without the release of the original letter, questions would remain about its authenticity and called for the actual document to be made public.
The remarks have sparked debate online over the transparency surrounding official diplomatic communications and the need for governments to publish verifiable copies of important correspondence involving heads of state.
