Look At The Presidential Candidates Of 3 Main Political Parties, They're The Same Old People - Femi Emmanuel

Pastor and public affairs commentator, Femi Emmanuel, has expressed concern over Nigeria's political leadership, arguing that the country's major political parties have continued to rely on familiar faces instead of presenting a new generation of leaders ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking during an interview on the Morayo Afolabi-Brown Podcast on Monday, 27 July, 2026, while reacting to calls for Nigerians to move away from old political parties built and controlled by the same political figures.

According to him, "The 3 main political parties as we have it now, look at their presidential candidates. They are the same old people."

The cleric suggested that many Nigerians have become increasingly frustrated with the dominance of long-standing political actors, insisting that the country's democratic process should create room for younger and more innovative leaders to emerge. He argued that the recurring appearance of the same personalities at the forefront of national politics raises questions about the willingness of political parties to embrace meaningful change.

Emmanuel's remarks come amid growing conversations about the 2027 presidential election and the direction of Nigeria's democracy.
