Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has stated that he would reintroduce petrol subsidy if he becomes Nigeria's president
Speaking in an interview with Channels Television, Sowore said Iran is at war with the United States of America, yet petrol is still cheaper in Iran than in Nigeria. He stated that a litre of petrol in Iran is selling for the equivalent of about 80 to 100 naira. He said despite the war, Iran is still able to manage its economy effectively
In Sowore's words: "Iran is at war with the US. As we speak petrol is cheaper in Iran than in Nigeria. As of yesterday they are selling a liter of petrol in Iran for about 80 naira to 100 naira. What happened? Management and honesty. They are at war, their ships have been blown apart, their ports are no longer working.
