Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) chieftain, Chief Bode George. has said he is not party to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s decision to defect to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
He said the governor also did not inform him of his decision to contest for president on the APM platform.
George told reporters in Lagos that when party chieftains were summoned to Ibadan for a meeting, he did not know that Makinde was leaving the party.
He said he learnt of the Ibadan meeting that heralded the governor’s defection and presidential declaration while he was in the United Kingdom.
George said that although Makinde made his personal decision without informing him, he still regards him as his son.
He said Deji Doherty, who is parading himself as a governorship candidate in Lagos, is not a serious contender.

George said the Lagos PDP is intact, adding that it had resolved not to have any dealings with the APM.
He insisted that nobody can dismantle the structures of the PDP because it is an iroko tree.
The party elder chided the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Chief Nyesom Wike, for creating confusion in Rivers State and the country.
