Bianca Ojukwu, Receives Newly Appointed Ambassador to Philippines, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete in Abuja


Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu, has welcomed the country's newly appointed Ambassador to the Philippines, retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, during a meeting held in Abuja.

Sharing details of the meeting on her official Instagram account, Ojukwu expressed confidence that the former Chief of Naval Staff would play an important role in strengthening diplomatic relations between Nigeria and the Philippines. She described Ambassador Ibas as an experienced leader whose background in public service would help advance Nigeria's foreign policy goals.

According to the minister, their discussions centred on ways to deepen cooperation between both countries through stronger people-to-people connections, expanded educational opportunities, workforce development initiatives, enhanced military training partnerships, and increased business and cultural exchanges.

 Ambassador's appointment provides an opportunity to further strengthen bilateral relations and identify new areas of collaboration that would benefit both Nigeria and the Philippines.

She also wished Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (Rtd.) a successful tenure as ambassador, expressing optimism that his experience, leadership and diplomatic efforts would contribute to building an even stronger and more productive relationship between the two nations.
