Nigerian influencer VeryDarkMan (VDM) made this statement following the dispersal of an anti-banditry and anti-government protest at Karu Bridge in Abuja. He released a video address to dismiss widespread rumours that he had been arrested by security forces during the demonstration.
Demonstrators gathered at the Karu Bridge intersection along the Nyanya-Mararaba axis in Abuja where protesters led by VeryDarkMan chanted slogans demanding a severe crackdown on regional insecurity, shouting "Bandits Must Go!" and calling for better governance and the safety of missing children.
In his address, the self acclaimed Ratel president clarified that he left the venue by following behind military personnel to ensure a peaceful exit without clashes. He instructed the gathered youth to go home, rest, and await instructions for the next protest location, hinting that future demonstrations might move toward Oyo State or directly confront insecurity challenges.
