Exclusive: Ondo APC Suspends Owo Local Government Suspended Chairman, Omolayo Over Anti-Party Activities

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Iloro Ward 6, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, has announced the suspension of the suspended Chairman of Owo Local Government Council, Hon. Tope Omolayo, from the party over alleged anti-party activities.

The decision was reached during an executive committee meeting of the ward held on June 1, 2026, according to a resolution contained in a document signed by ward executives and party officials.

The ward executives alleged that Omolayo failed to participate in and vote during the party's recent primary election in his ward. They further claimed that the council chairman did not visit Iloro Ward 6 at any time throughout the primary election period.
According to the resolution, a motion for the suspension was moved by the ward's Youth Leader, Mr. Ibijuowo Tope, and seconded by the Legal Adviser, Mr. Dedeigbo Stanley, before being adopted by members present at the meeting.

The document stated that Omolayo was being suspended "forthwith as a member of Iloro Ward 6 of the All Progressives Congress in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State for anti-party activities, particularly failure to take part and vote during the recently conducted party primaries at his ward."
The resolution was endorsed by members of the ward executive committee, including the chairman, vice chairman, secretary, treasurer, youth leader, women leader and other officials. Two local government party executives were also listed among those who appended their signatures to the document.
