Gina Carano, the tough-as-nails former MMA fighter who never backed down from the Hollywood mob, nailed it today with a heartfelt post on a jam-packed Sunday of competition.
"I'm excited for the UFC card tonight. 🇺🇸" she wrote. "I’m happy for the Knicks and Knicks fans even though I don’t watch basketball. But wow, this one meant A LOT, it appears. ♥️ It’s really cool to see the FIFA World Cup fans sitting in parks and gathering together even though I don’t watch soccer/football."
Then she dropped the truth conservatives have always known: "Sports save lives. They bring people together, keep people healthy, and teach us how to play as part of a team or in the gym. You root for people you don’t know, stars are born, and we watch athletes work and train with others from all over the world, learning disciplines, cultures, techniques, and passions and then sharing that with their fans."
Carano continued: "Sports give kids something to look up to, something they can physically train to achieve. Sports are an art form that brings people together and gives us all a breather. Sports and athletes deliver the morale boost we sometimes really need."
