Four Pakistani nationals have been detained by the Ekiti State Police Command following reports of their suspicious presence in Iyin-Ekiti, Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.
According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication, residents alerted security agencies after noticing the presence of the foreign nationals in the community. The suspects were identified as Muhammad Yusuf (47), Ghani Abdul (36), Abdul Jabbar (46), and Yusuf Muhammad (47).
Makama reported that during preliminary questioning, the men claimed they came to Nigeria for mobile phone sales and sightseeing activities. However, security operatives reportedly found their explanations unsatisfactory and subsequently took them into custody for further investigation.
The police are said to be conducting thorough checks to verify their identities, activities, and the circumstances surrounding their presence in the community.
Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and continue providing useful information to security agencies to enhance public safety.
