Oyo Senator Alli denies allegation of link to ex Power Minister’s sister, sons abdùction

Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli has denied any involvement in the abdúction of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the sister of Power Minister Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons by kidnáppers.

The Oyo South lawmaker described the allegations as “fálse, mal!cious and baseless.”

In a statement issued by his Media Office on Sunday, Alli dismissed reports circulating on social media linking him to the k!dnapping incident.

The statement described the publication as “irresponsible, defamatory, politically motivated and completely devoid of credibility.”

Senator Alli also emphasised his long record of public service and commitment to peace and development of the State and nation as a whole.

He said, “It is therefore absurd and illogical for anyone to attempt to drag his hard-earned reputation into cr!minal allegations founded merely on unverified claims allegedly made by a suspect under investigation.

The senator’s media office stated that he has “no connection whatsoever with the said cr!minal incident, the individuals mentioned, or any activity related to kidnápping or viólence.”

It also noted that the attempt to link campaign materials or stickers to the crime was a desperate move by political detractors aimed at tarnishing the image of a popular leader whose acceptance continues to grow across Oyo State.

The statement further highlighted that the original report itself admitted that no security agency has established any link between Senator Alli and the alleged críme.

“Senator Alli strongly condemns kidnápping and every form of críminality.

“As a responsible statesman and advocate of rule of law, he has consistently supported efforts aimed at strengthening security and protecting lives and property across Oyo State and Nigeria,” the statement said.

The lawmaker’s media team urged the public to disregard the publication entirely and refrain from spreading falsehoods that could undermine ongoing security investigations or inflame political tensions.

The statement also called on security agencies to investigate the source of the “malicious narrative” and prosecute those responsible for what they termed fake news and political blackmail.

He added that as a lawmaker of the Federal Republic of Nigeria he remains focused on his legislative responsibilities and his vision for a safer, more prosperous and united Oyo State.
