Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Prof Chidi Odinkalu has taken to his official X account on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 to react to the statement that was made the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye about security in Nigeria.
This came after some teachers and school children were kidnapped in Ogbomoso, Oyo state.
According to PUNCH, Pastor Adeboye told service chiefs to end insecurity in Nigeria or resign.
Reacting, Chidi Odinkalu asked if the General Overseer of RCCG is the Commander In Chief of Armed Forces. He said the pastor claimed he's not a politician but he's commanding members of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
According to Chidi Odinkalu on his official X account;
"I thought Pastor E.A Adeboye claimed he was not a politician? But he is now busy commanding the service chiefs to resign? So, what is he now? But it is the eloquence of what Adeboye avoids saying that is even louder".
