A Nigerian lady has openly asked for help after stating she lost her ₦18 million life savings to a travel agent while applying for a Canadian visa.
She reportedly paid the agent ₦18 million to process her visa. According to the video she posted, the agent allegedly submitted fake bank records with her application.
She stated that the visa application was then denied by Canadian authorities, who also slapped a five-year ban on her from applying due to the bogus papers.
The woman claimed that despite the verdict, the travel agent refused to refund the ₦18 million she paid.
She described the incident as upsetting, saying she had invested all of her life savings and felt her life had been turned upside down.
Her comments have aroused compassion online, with many Nigerians recommending prospective travellers to check the trustworthiness of visa experts and thoroughly study any documentation submitted on their behalf before submitting an application.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and the travel agent has not publicly replied to them. If the claims are true, the case might raise both civil and criminal legal difficulties.
