Iran’s armed forces have reaffirmed their commitment to defending the country and the ideals of the Islamic Revolution, issuing a strong statement on the anniversary of the d£ath of the Islamic Republic’s founder, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, and the commemoration of the Khordad 15 uprising.
According to Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB, the joint statement was released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces and the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters.
The military leadership condemned recent actions by the United States and Israel, accusing both countries of exposing what it described as the hypocrisy behind their claims of supporting human rights.
According to Al Jazeera, the statement cited what Iranian officials called a deadly attack on a school in Minab that reportedly k!lled more than 170 people, describing it as one of hundreds of crimes committed against civilians.
Iranian military leaders said such incidents demonstrate the need for continued resistance against foreign aggression.
“The Iranian nation will not retreat in the face of threats and aggression,” the statement declared.
It emphasized that the country’s armed forces remain fully committed to protecting Iran’s sovereignty, independence, and revolutionary principles, pledging to defend them “to the d£ath.”
The military also asserted that Washington and Tel Aviv would ultimately be forced to concede in the face of what it described as the determination of Iran’s armed forces and the unity of its people.
The statement urged citizens to remain united and continue supporting the country’s leadership during a period of heightened regional tensions.
The anniversary of Khomeini’s de@th, observed annually on June 3, coincides with the remembrance of the Khordad 15 uprising of 1963.
The uprising is widely regarded by Iranian authorities as a pivotal event that helped lay the groundwork for the 1979 Islamic Revolution and remains a symbol of resistance and national solidarity in the country’s official narrative.
