According to a report by Daily Post on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, Oluwole Oke, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council for the upcoming Osun State governorship election, has asserted that the Accord Party will fail to win in any ward within the Ijesa North federal constituency, which includes Oriade and Obokun local government areas, during the August 15, 2026 poll.
Oke made the statement during an interaction with journalists from the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) on Tuesday.
The APC campaign chief used the opportunity to outline the party’s political strategy and preparedness for the forthcoming governorship contest, emphasizing the strength of APC in the region.
According to him, the party has maintained a solid presence and deep grassroots connection across the two local government areas.
He insisted that this foundation positions APC to achieve a decisive victory when voters head to the polls in mid-August.
He further highlighted the strategic approach of the party in the lead-up to the election.
The APC campaign machinery, Oke said, has been focusing on outreach programs that directly engage residents, ensuring that the party’s message and vision are clearly communicated to the electorate.
Oke also emphasized that the party’s campaigns are grounded in addressing real issues affecting citizens.
He noted that unlike some political entities that rely on rhetoric or personalities, APC prioritizes issue-based engagement, seeking to respond to the immediate concerns of the people in Oriade and Obokun.
He added that the ongoing campaign has been structured to highlight the party’s achievements and contrast them with the perceived failures of the current government.
This, Oke argued, would make the APC the natural choice for voters who seek tangible progress and effective governance in Osun State.
He stated, “In APC we speak to issues. This government is not doing anything for the citizens."
