“If you’re single, no hope” – Bride-to-be sets strict friendship rules, sparks online reactions

A bride-to-be went viral after jokingly writing the conditions her pals must complete if they want to stay close to her after her wedding.

In a video filmed at her bridal shower and published on X (previously Twitter), the ecstatic woman informed her pals that their friendship will now be subject to a few rules as she prepares to marry.

She believes that anyone who aspires to remain in her circle must be in a serious relationship and making obvious progress toward marriage.

“If you want to continue being my friend, I have requirements. Firstly, you must be in a relationship. Secondly, the relationship must be more than two years. Thirdly, you must have met your partner’s parents. Fourthly, a proposal must be in sight,” she said.

The bride-to-be expressed her desire that her closest friends would reach similar milestones around the same time, allowing them to navigate marriage and family life together.

She also stated that her final requirement was that they be prepared to have children next year so that their children could grow up together.

“Lastly, you must be ready to give birth next year so when I have my kids, they will have someone to play with. So please, if you know you’re single, no hope…” she added.

The statements rapidly went viral on social media, with some users calling her speech insulting and others arguing that everyone has the right to create the kind of circle they want around themselves after marriage.

The film has continued to elicit emotions online, with many individuals offering their perspectives on friendship, relationships, and the sometimes amusing expectations that come with weddings.
