Gunmen Strike Again on Oyo Highway, Kill Two in Kishi–Igbeti Attack

Gunmen have reportedly attacked commuters along the Kishi–Igbeti highway in Oyo State, killing at least two people in a fresh wave of violence targeting rural transport routes.

According to eyewitness accounts, the attackers dressed in camouflage, initially causing confusion among road users who mistook them for security personnel.

“We thought they were soldiers because of the camouflage they wore, but they suddenly started shooting at vehicles,” one survivor said.

The assailants reportedly opened fire on moving vehicles, forcing motorists to abandon their cars and flee into nearby bushes for safety. The attack caused panic and temporarily disrupted movement along the highway.
