The Emure-ile Future Pride Youth Forum, under the leadership of the Acting President, Tolulope Adeyefa, has congratulated the people of Emure-ile Kingdom and Nigeria at large on the occasion of Nigeria's 27th Democracy Day anniversary, stating that active political participation is vital to sustaining the nation's democratic trajectory.
In a statement issued by the Acting Publicity Secretary, Joshua Kazeem, the Forum stated that increased political participation is necessary to strengthen the ideals of democracy.
The Forum also called on community stakeholders and residents to strengthen their commitment to the political trajectory of Emure-ile in order to foster strengthened unity and viable development in the community.
According to the Forum, democracy can only thrive when citizens are not passive observers but active contributors in governance processes, including civic engagement, voter participation, and constructive dialogue with elected representatives. It noted that young people, in particular, must take up their rightful place in shaping the future of their community and the nation at large.
While emphasizing peace and inclusiveness, the Forum urged political actors, traditional leaders, and youth groups to work collaboratively in promoting transparency, accountability, and development-oriented leadership across all levels of governance.
The statement further encouraged residents to see Democracy Day as a reminder of the responsibilities that come with citizenship in a democratic society.
The Forum reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment, community development, and continued advocacy for participatory governance in Emure-Ile.
