A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) permission to arrest former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, over allegations of certificate forgery.
The order was issued following an ex parte motion filed by the ICPC in a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1160/2026. According to the commission, the application became necessary after Nnaji allegedly failed to honour multiple invitations for questioning as part of an ongoing investigation.
Nnaji, who was appointed minister by President Bola Tinubu in August 2023, resigned after allegations emerged that he submitted forged academic and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) credentials during his ministerial screening and confirmation process.
The court also granted the ICPC permission to declare him wanted through newspapers, social media platforms, and other media channels. In addition, law enforcement agencies and other authorised persons have been empowered to arrest and hand him over to the commission for investigation.
The arrest warrant will remain valid until Nnaji is apprehended. The former minister recently emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Enugu State ahead of the 2027 elections.
